Staff Value 9.0
My daughter and I attended a Twilight Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel January 29-31, 2010. This was the best hotel experience we have ever had. The hotel was so beautiful and the staff went above and beyond normal courteous service. The food in all the resturants we tried was outstanding; the rooms were clean and the beds were the most comfortable I have EVER slept on. Both my daughter and I are looking forward to again staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in March, 2011, for the Twilight Convention. We can't wait!
The truth is that you don't ever have to leave the resort if you don't want to. There is so much to do inside. Multiple restaurants and live music every night. I've got to say the night life is great too with several bars. There's live vegetation and actual palm trees everywhere. Our room was extremely clean and we ordered room service several times and it was great. The food comes from the restaurants that are in the hotel. You literally order off the menu from that particular restaurant. This hotel isn't the cheapest in town but when you consider everything included in the hotel it is well worth the money.

We stayed for Christmas once and stayed at the one in Orlando. Both r wonderful my daughter age 13 is looking forward to us staying there for the CMA festival. SHE WANTS TO HAVE DINNER WITH TAYLOR SWIFT there is a fan club dinner does anyone know who to call to get her in. Its every kids dream, but I am willing to really go all out to help my daughter get this. Any suggestions? Anyway back to the hotel its great really , so just go and maybe we ll see yall there.
We just spent 3 days at the hotel and had a great experience! We've wanted to stay here for the last 5 years and the hotel lived up to our expectations. We arrived after 11pm and quickly found out that the hotel has 24 hour room service. The best part is that if the room service takes longer than 30 minutes it's on the hotel. We ordered up some dinner and it was delivered in only 20 minutes and it was great!
This really is a great hotel. It's the perfect escape to a tropical paradise that happens to be in the middle of the city. The gardens are beautiful with tons of things to do. There's great shopping within walking distance and Oprymills is actually a fun experience. It's hard to believe but there's a riverboat inside the hotel and make sure to take a ride.

Staff at Old Hickory Restaurant and at the breakfast restaurant (Cascade Falls?) were very kind and attentive. Check out desk for Marriott Rewards members was not friendly. One person stood and typed on the computer and the other person who checked me out was not friendly.Â

The hotel is in need of paint touch ups and cleaning. Our carpet was dirty and there were Cheetos under the bed. I could hardly understand the check in lady due to her accent. Even though the line was not long, check in took a long time. I would recommend to book directly with the hotel. There seems to be a disconnect with the booking agents and the hotel. The lifeguards at the pool were great. Very friendly and helpful. The pool area was neat and clean. The dining choices were limited as many of the restaraunts were closed. That was very frustrating. The room service was fast and friendly.
Once you arrive, you'll be in a huge resort with all you need for a couple of days escape. Â For a convention I can't imagine better!
Excessive charges for everything.Â
I have stayed in high quality places and paid premium prices. I have stayed in some dumps and paid dump prices, but this is the first time I have stayed at a place and paid premium prices for mediocre accomidations and some of the poorest food i have ever put in mouth. I must also mention that we were charged to park at the place where we were charged these premium prices and for "incidentals" we did not use or ask for. This will be our only stay at the "resort".
It was frustrating that so many of your restaurants were closed during peak hours. If I must eat overpriced hotel food, I certainly don't want to wait in line to do so.
The room was ok but floors need a lot of attention in corners behind doors and other places. The room was way over priced for what I got. I would compare it to motel6 or some other cheap motel
I ranked services in the middle because of the big businesses with the deep pockets having events there buying off sections of the hotel on certain nights limiting places to eat or go to. On a bad weather night we chose to stay at the hotel instead of going downtown in the weather only to find an entire section reserved for a business and there were limited places to eat at that time. The last night we were there we planned to hang out in the Wild Horse only to find it was closed for the night because a business bought it out for the evening. Other than those two things we enjoyed our time in Nashville.Â
Everything was wonderful except you could not regulate the shower water temperature. Either too hot or too cold, no in between. C6029.
Stayed 2 nights over New Years 2015. No chairs in room to sit on. 24 dollars a day to park-had to walk a mile after parking.Food prices atrocious at all places we ate at. Requested seating for two at Jack Daniels-wait was approx 20 minutes and there were oodles of tables available inside. Left our room at 8:30 am returned at 2:30 pm and room had not been cleaned. The signage for getting places is terrible--very confusing in such a large place. Got out of a concert at 11 pm and hardly anything open for a bite to eat. The one that was open had pre-made roast beef sandwiches for $9.95 tax The mighty dollar has taken over instead of the care and concern for the customer.
