Golf for All Ages
There are two golf courses at Smugglers’ Notch, but they aren’t your typical golf course. To draw kids into the game, choose Woodland Mini Golf. The miniature golf is free for all guests and opens daily at 9 a.m. Try something new with the disc golf course. There are two courses at Smugglers’ Notch Resort, and disc rentals are available if needed. Brewster Ridge is an 18-hole course, while Village 9 is a 9-hole course.
Mountainside Llama Picnics
Borrow a llama for the day and have help carrying a picnic up the mountain. Llama treks include a picnic lunch of fruit, pastries, beverages, and Vermont’s popular Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Vermont Canoe & Kayak
Head down the mountain to Route 15. Set off in the field is Vermont Canoe & Kayak. Take a tour of the Lamoille River or go on a guided tour that takes two hours. Water Parks at Smugglers’ Notch
The water parks at Smuggs are broken down into five areas. Start with the Courtside Pool that’s open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. This huge pool is bordered by hot tubs. The main attraction is the 120-foot waterslide. There’s also Mountainside Water Playground that’s open the same hours. In addition to a lap pool, there are attractions for all ages. For the older child or teen, there’s the Rapid River Ride that plummets 30 feet on a 300-foot track. Younger kids love the Little Smugglers’ Lagoon and a waterslide that’s just their size.
Opening at 11 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m., Notchville Park spans three acres and has three pools. Rum Runners’ Hideaway also opens at 11 a.m. You have to walk 10 minutes to this reservoir where there is swimming until 4 p.m. You can also swim from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bootleggers’ Basin. Water depth maxes out at 12 feet. Perks to Bootlegger’s Basin include an inflatable water slide, water sports, and sports courts near the water.
Things to Know About the Family Resort
Smugglers’ Notch has five areas where rooms are found. Rent a one-, two-, or three-bedroom condo in Highlands Hills. The condos in North Hill range in size from one-bedroom to four-bedroom. Village East and Village West both offer condos ranging from a studio to one with five bedrooms. Finally, there’s the West Hill with one-, two-, or three-bedroom condos.
When you stay at Smuggs, you have access to a child care facility that takes infants and toddlers. There are children’s programs for kids over the age of 3. Even 16 and 17 year olds have programs available to them if you want some time alone.
