You can save a little on your ticket prices by purchasing them online in advance also.
Getting around the Space Center Houston is much more efficient with a rental car. However, the public bus system does have stops near the Space Center Houston and the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center/NASA. It will add about 20 minutes to your trip if you take the bus, but it is certainly an affordable, convenient option. The hotels near the Space Center Houston, such as Extended Stay America Houston-NASA/Clear Lake, Courtyard by Marriott Houston NASA/Clear Lake, Super 8 Houston/NASA/Webster Area, and Holiday Inn Express Hotels & Suites- Houston Space Center, are within a short drive to the Space Center Houston. If you do decide to drive, it will not take long. Parking is reasonable and there’s plenty of space.
If you want to plan your visit right after a complimentary breakfast at your hotel, you certainly can. The Space Center Houston has an on-site restaurant, Zero-G Diner, and it serves delicious entrées from salads, Tex-Mex, Italian, and more. Starbucks is on location for a quick cup of coffee as well. You can eat outside at a picnic table on a sunny day or inside if the weather isn’t cooperating. The Space Center Houston suggests that you wear comfortable shoes for walking since there is so much to see and experience. Be sure and bring a back pack for your souvenirs, so you don’t have to lug around a gift bag. Your camera is welcome, and photos can be taken anywhere expect in the theater rooms. Children three and under receive free admission, and many hotels near the Space Center Houston also have kids-stay-free policies.
