Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

Ripley’s Believe it or Not is a large museum and activity center that is available in several parts of the world, including in Key West, Florida. It was originally founded by Robert Ripley who had a long-time passion for odd things and events. There have been many different formats of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, from comic books and regular books, to radio, television, and of course the museums. Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum in Key West begins with the Odditorium. This is one of the more popular attractions when you visit Ripley’s. You will be greeted by a man-eating shark, see carvings of different landscapes made from camel bone, and see a Jack Sparrow model made from recycled car parts. As you can see, not everything is scary, but there are many odd things to see. The Odditorium is just located in the lobby, but the museum has a lot more to see.

There are self-guided tours within the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum in Key West, so you don’t need to worry about getting lost. You’ll see every part of the museum by following this tour from one room to the next. After you leave the lobby, you’ll go through 15 different galleries that are themed with a variety of collections found all over the world. Much of what is found at the museum was discovered by Robert Ripley himself, who dedicated his life to traveling. A lot of the findings are from the 200 countries he traveled to in his lifetime. One of the features of the museum is the very typewriter and reading glasses Ernest Hemingway used, as well as a shrunken human torso of the famous writer.
