Also be sure to visit the Chelsea Piers, as they once served luxury liners but have since turned into an entertainment and sports complex. Be sure to see the heart of the Union Square while visiting and go to the Greenmarket Farmers Market while in town. Close to the Flatiron District, discover the beautiful Gramercy Park.
Getting Around the Area
Whether you want to visit the area around your hotels in Chelsea, New York City, and nearby neighborhoods or just stay in the area itself, there are many transportation options. Taxi’s can get you long distances through the city if you do not want to rent a car. This neighborhood is also very close to Grand Central Station. Being within walking distance to many of the attractions allows you to take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you stroll through the streets of Manhattan. Buses also run through the areas and offer affordable transportation to and from your destinations.
When arriving in the area by plane, you’ll find that it’s around 25-45 minutes from Newark and LaGuardia airports. There are several ways to get from the airports to Manhattan, but it’s less hassle to take the train and avoid long waits in traffic.
