Snoqualmie is a town of about 10,000 people that sits roughly 25 miles east of Seattle, Washington. The town has a lot of history in it and is also home to more than 30 parks and 30 miles of hiking trails of all varying degrees of difficulty. The city and the surrounding area is paradise for the outdoors lover. The town was originally founded in 1889 and was first known as a lumber mill town and transportation hub because of its proximity to the Snoqualmie River and the railroad. Today, the town has preserved its original historic downtown, and it is filled with shops, restaurants, and other businesses.

Getting Around

Since the town is located almost a half-hour from the Seattle, the best bet for visitors is to rent a car at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and drive to Snoqualmie. Having a vehicle will allow visitors to not only easily get to the town but also to the many parks surrounding the town.

Snoqualmie has festivals and activities going on year-round with one of most popular being Train Days that takes place every August. August 2014 marks the 125th year that the train has been in service in the area.  The Northwest Train Museum is open daily year-round but visitors can only take rides on the historic train April to October on the weekends.

Snoqualmie has something for everyone including a TPC Golf Course. The Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course is home to the Boeing Classic played every August. The course is a members–only course but guests staying at the Salish Hotel and Spa get course privileges.

Snoqualmie is an outdoor playground for adventure seekers year-round. In addition to all the parks in the area travelers can also mountain bike, hike, rock climb, fish, kayak, and more.
