Getting Here and Getting Around

Toronto is a busy city with many means of access. Travel to Toronto by air is best accomplished with flights in and out of the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). It is the busiest airport and is located on the western boundary of the city. A limited number of flights come into the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, located southwest of the downtown area. If you choose to travel with your own car to the area, Highway 401 runs west to east of the city, but you will be traveling with lots of company as it is the busiest highway in North America. You could also take the Gardiner Highway and the Don Valley Parkway, both municipal parkways. Beware. Toronto has chronic traffic issues so if you are traveling via car, set aside plenty of time and have plenty of patience.

Travel via public transportation will find you in the good hands of the Toronto Transit Commission. The subway, buses, and streetcars will transport you around the city. Once arrived, you want an accommodation that is easily accessible. Many of the Radisson hotels in Toronto are conveniently located off Highway 401 and nearby the subway stations, so once you have arrived, you have arrived.

Things to Do

Toronto is a city steeped in history and diversity, waiting to be discovered by you in memorable ways. Go as high as the sky at the iconic CN Tower and be courageous enough to do the EdgeWalk, a hands-free walk, 116 stories above the ground. Not brave enough? You can still stay for dinner at the 360 Restaurant, where you can experience incredible food with revolving views of the city.

See the breathtaking Casa Loma, a Gothic Revival mansion built in the early 1900s. With a rich history, including a hot spot during Prohibition and a sonar research facility in World War II, the Casa Loma is a gorgeous spot to see elegance of old. Take part in the celebrations of the “Taste of Danforth” festival, honoring the strong Greek culture in the area. Be amazed at the beauty of nature with a trip to the Scarborough Bluffs. Forming the shoreline of Lake Ontario, the breathtaking banks are the edge of the glacial Lake Iroquois, deposited there during the last ice age. At the end of the day, you have Radisson hotels in Toronto to call home.
