The Outside

The Centennial Theatre Vancouver has an attention-grabbing exterior, luring in those passing by.  The wave-like design of the glass is fun and different, the beautiful yellow, red, and blue lights carefully placed to hang down and around the upper left corner of the exterior, catching the eye, spiking curiosity, and letting you know that fun awaits inside! You’re welcome to join, and staying at one of the hotels near Centennial Theatre Vancouver makes it so much easier!

The Inside

From the moment you enter, the sense of neighborhood and community is strong, with obvious care taken in the management, productions, and design of the building with art scattered around the walls in the entrance areas. There are three lobbies: the Upper Lobby with creative downward-facing lighting and gorgeous tile floor designs, the East Lobby with royal blue drapes hanging elegantly over the doorways into the theater, and West Lobby. The West Lobby is where you can find the goodies before the show at the concession stand.

As you walk into the theatre, nearly 700 cushion-covered seats line the aisles that lead straight to the stage, nicely framed with wood paneling to make the performance the focal point. The lovely blue mats help make the path more obvious if the lighting has been dimmed! Wheelchair access makes the events and shows accessible for everyone, and no one will be sad to have come once the royal blue curtain lifts and the show begins.

Seeing a Show

For those who are interested in finding the currently planned performances, more information can be found on the theater’s Facebook page and their website. The box office is located at the theater, but tickets can be purchased online with a credit card.  If you have a car during your time in the area and are staying at hotels near Centennial Theatre Centre Vancouver, there is plenty of parking in the lot that’s adjacent to the building, at no cost.

Planning a Show

If you’re interested in hosting a show at the Centennial Theatre, dressing rooms may be something you’re interested in, and boy, do they have them! Bright white tile fills the open space, with well-lit mirrors along the walls above counters to hold make-up and props until it is show time. There is a separate area with stalls and sinks.
