Playland Amusement Park is part of Hastings Park in Vancouver, British Columba, Canada. It is the oldest amusement park in Canada with over 35-rides for adults and children to enjoy. There are plenty of hotels near Playland Amusement Park, so getting to and from the park is a cinch. Also, the hotels range in price, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something to fit your budget.

Things To Do

Playland Amusement Park is open from April to the end of September each year. It does, however, open up for special events, such as for Halloween in October. Watch for Fright Nights that have rides, as well as haunted houses that you can walk through (if you’re brave enough). Once August rolls around, the park and its partner, the Pacific National Exhibition, play host to a fair. It has animal races, monster trucks, and talent shows. There are also demolition derbies and carnival rides to enjoy.

Playland’s most famous ride is the wooden roller coaster, which was first built in 1958. Its drop height is a heart-stopping 75-feet, and it reaches speeds of 47-mph. Rated as an ACE Coaster Classic, the ride was featured in two movies, “Riding the Bullet” and “Fear.” Additional rides you may come across when walking through the park include the AtmosFear, the Gladiator, and a giant Ferris Wheel.

When it comes to games, children will love Shoot Out the Star, Whac-A-Mole, and Big Bang. Kids will also want to spend time at the Kids Playce, where they can fly through the air on an elephant, whiz down a slide, and take flight in a hot air balloon.
